Club Nacional de Football

A Legacy in Three Colors

Club Nacional de Football, founded in 1899, is the first criollo team in the Americas—a giant in Uruguayan and world football. With 49 domestic championships and 9 international titles, including three Copa Libertadores and three Intercontinental Cups, its history is one of pure glory.

A club with such a legacy needs an identity that tells its story. That’s why we created a visual system that bridges past and present, tradition and evolution.

Home Kit 2020: When History Commands

This jersey design is a tribute to greatness, referencing iconic details from the uniforms worn in Nacional’s three Intercontinental Cup victories: the embossed crest from 1980, the cuffs from 1988, and the shorts design from 1971.

Umbro introduced a new technology called hydrochromy, an effect that reveals designs when the fabric gets wet. Leveraging this innovation, we proposed incorporating a texture of flags, symbolizing the deep connection between the Club and its people.

CNF Symbol: An Icon with Identity

Inspired by the typography of the Club’s first jersey, we created a reinterpretation that not only pays homage to the past but also seamlessly integrates into the identity of the present.

Logo Designed for the 47th Uruguayan Championship Victory. A commemorative emblem celebrating Nacional’s achievement, blending tradition and modern design to honor the club’s legacy and its unwavering pursuit of excellence.

GPC Font

Based on the lettering inscribed on the stands of the Gran Parque Central, we developed a complete alphabet. This typeface was applied both to the design of the new jersey and various communication materials.

Alternative Kit 2020: Tribute to the Past

The Gran Parque Central was the stage for the first-ever match in World Cup history (1930), a milestone that inspired the design of the alternative jersey.

Project  selected for the Ibero-American Design Biennial.
